Music video genre conventions

Different musical genres:
Pop                                       Jazz                                Indie
RnB                                       Latin                              Grime
Country                                 Reggae                           Hip hop
Rock                                     Rap                                Blues
Classical                                Soul                                Heavy metal
House                                   Drum & Bass

We were asked to pick a genre and list what we would expect to see in a music video of that genre:
Genre - Country:
- Someone playing a guitar
- For the majority of the video to be set outdoors
- The artist wearing cowboy hats
- The men with rugged appearances
- Might include line dancing
- No sharps jumps or many sharp jumps

An example: Florida Georgia Line Cruise

In comparison to that, they created a remix version which featured Nelly in the song:

In this version there was more emphasis on the cars that they were driving and no instruments were used in their performances. Some of the base tracks were set at night whereas in the original it was all shot in broad daylight. There was more girls in this version and most of the focus this video was on the girls. In the original video it was still about the girls (because the song is about a girl) but the majority of the video was about the band and their performance.

This exercise has helped because once we pick our song we will be able to write a list of what would typically be in a music video for that genre and include it into our final product.
