Advertisements for the album must contain some sorts of similarities to the digipack for it to be recognisable. it should not contain too much but enough information for the album to get promoted.
Strengths
The advertisemnt has kept to he colour scheme ofthe digipack (black and red). It has all the necessary information that and advertisement should have which includes the artist name, album name, debut album and other information that relate to the promotion of the album and artist. It is positioned well as the CD cover is placed in a correct way and size.
Weaknesses
The main picture of the artists on the right is effective as it is a faded picture that relates to the title 'Lights out'. However, from a promotional perspective, a clearer picture would be advisable.
Indiya - In my own words
Strengths
The colour scheme has been continued from the digipack. A clear picture has been used and the CD cover is placed well. The title is clear and bright aswell as the picture of the artist.
Weaknesses
There are some things in this advertisement that does not need to be there. For instance, the star ratings is unecessary as it suggests that the album has already been promoted in some way. Also, underneath the stars is the phrase 'Word up' which is also unecessary as it does not promote an album and is not necessary for promotional use.
If this student used a landscape advertisement, it may have allowed her to add enough necessary information without it overlapping the picture. The fact that the picture takes up most the space is most probably the reason why there is not much information about the debut album.
