Risks that we found:
Weather
As it is the winter season, the weather can be quite unpredictable. we had to make sure that the weather was stable enough to film in. for instance, the rain had to be avoided in order to not damage the equipment. Also, we found that on the monday, we wouldnt film as the weather showed yellow warnings that a strong storm would occur and may be heavy. therefore, we had to avoid the storm for safety reasons. therefore, we decided to film later on during that week. A review on this storm is linked below.
Tube stations/underground
In our music video, there are a few shots planned were the narrative is based in a tube station/underground. however, there are many risks listed below.
- Permission to film, as the TFL website states that it will cost students £50 pound to film for an hour. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/tfl/corporate/media/lufilmoffice/
- Permission to film outside the station near private properties
- Using equipment where stations have a lot of people, as a collision could injure members of our group and damage equipment
- Using equipment on the escalators, as stability will be needed to not drop the camera and equipment
To avoid aggrevation from the staff at the tube station, we asked permission to film as we would spend less than a hour to get our shots in. the staff member agreed to let us film as long as we inform them when we are there. Also, we decided to go to tube stations when it isn't a time of rush hour, to avoid collisions and other such accidents. Using equipment on the escalators and around the tube station had the least risk as it involved a steady hand, which our members of the group were confident about.
Production schedule
Our main concern was to do with our production schedule being suitable for all members of the group, as Shrepsa and Farha (artist) have work to attend. We had to make sure that our timetable did not intervene in working times. However, Farha has the most responsibilty as she is the artist and without her our filming will be delayed, giving us less time to film. Therefore, we had to make sure that we all ad suitable times to meet and film. Also, as the weather has been up and down recently, we had to make sure that the weather was suitable to film in, as poor weather could delay our production schedule.
Equipment
As a group, we have to ensure that all equipment must be safe and undamaged. damaged equipmen will not only be crucial financially, but also crucial to the music video itself. For example, a damaged camera would stop the process of filming totally and cost the group and the college. Also, we had to be cautious filming in certain locations, as a city based location would be compact with workers and people rushing. To keep our equipment safe, we split the equipment between our group memers to handle and take home after the filming process, to ensure that the equipment stay safe.
